Map five positions on the available surface
Use an existing clean preparation area. Arrange the positions in an order you can follow, leaving used parts separate from clean, dry items. The positions describe a workflow rather than a required fixture.

Define what completes each position
| Position | Action | Move on when |
|---|---|---|
| Original package | Identify powder and read its directions | Contents and intended amount are determined |
| Measuring area | Use the appropriate measuring method | The planned amount is measured separately |
| Filling area | Keep the lower cap fitted and load through the top | The contents fit and both caps close normally |
| Departure position | Place the prepared container with the day’s kit | It is distinguishable from empty or used containers |
| Return area | Set used parts aside for care | Cleaning and drying are completed before another fill |
Keep the original label at the first two positions. Do not begin by filling the storage container and treating whatever fits as the intended amount.
Keep prepared and used items distinct
Use the departure position for completed containers and the return area for items awaiting care. If preparation is interrupted, check the container’s contents and state before continuing. The layout is an organizational suggestion; no time saving has been measured.
Close the workflow after use
Follow the seller’s care directions, dry the accessible parts and return the empty container to its ready-to-fill position. FoodSafety.gov supports clean preparation surfaces and utensils; it does not specify the dishwasher cycle for this item.
The container’s capacity does not determine storage duration. Follow the powder’s own storage directions and plan only the amount appropriate to your intended use.
